On the main lines

  • Length of stay at the clinic *: 3-5 days
  • Rehabilitation stay: not necessary in 80% of cases
    • if needed, 7-10 days (length can vary based on age and comorbidities)
  • Ambulatory physiotherapy: not necessary in 80% of the cases
    • in nedded, 9 sessions (number can vary based on age and comorbidities)
  • Social life:
    • Walking without crutches including stairs: approx. 2 weeks
    • Driving of car: approx 2 weeks
    • Normal daily activities: approx. 2 weeks
  • Professional life
    • 100% office work: approx. 4 weeks
    • 100% physical work: 2-4 months

  • D0: The day of the operation
    • Early afternoon: 1st visit of the physiotherapist / mobilization exercises in bed / sitting on the edge of the bed
    • End of the afternoon: 2nd visit of the physiotherapist: 1st time out of bed, in complete load
    • In 50% of cases = walking in the hallway, WITHOUT CRUTCHES
  • D1-3 / 5: stationary rehabilitation stay:
    • Personalized daily sessions with a physiotherapist
    • Free access to fitness center / rehabilitation 
  • Exit criteria:
    • Quadriceps strength at +5
    • Walking with crutches without problem.
    • Autonomy on the stairs.
    • Pain is under control (oral analgesics)
